Build Nursing Skills in Real Healthcare Settings

Clinical rotations for ASN students take place at designated off-site healthcare facilities, where students apply classroom learning while working under supervision in real patient-care environments. These experiences are separate from FVI’s on-campus Nursing Simulation and Skills Labs.

Clinical rotations are integrated throughout the ASN curriculum, giving students repeated opportunities to strengthen their knowledge and practical nursing skills before graduation

Clinical Settings and FVI’s Healthcare Partners

FVI arranges clinical placements through affiliated healthcare facilities. Clinical settings may vary based on course objectives, site availability, and the type of patient care being studied.

FVI’s clinical partners include:

These partnerships give students exposure to working healthcare environments across South Florida. FVI has also had graduates hired by some of these organizations; however, clinical placement does not guarantee employment.

Students are expected to follow the policies, schedules, dress codes, and clinical requirements of each assigned facility.

How Clinical Rotations Prepare You for the NCLEX and Your Career

Clinical rotations reinforce the concepts students receive instruction in during nursing courses. They provide opportunities to apply clinical judgment, patient safety, and communication in supervised healthcare settings.

This real-world application complements classroom instruction and practice in FVI’s on-campus Simulation and Skills Labs.

Clinical experience may expose students to several areas of nursing, including:

Care Coordination

Exposure to different patient populations and clinical environments can help students better understand the responsibilities of registered nurses and explore the types of settings in which they may want to work.

FVI’s ASN curriculum is designed to prepare qualified graduates to pursue registered nurse licensure by taking the NCLEX-RN and meeting applicable Florida Board of Nursing requirements. Graduation does not guarantee employment or licensure.
