Dr. Tami Such, PhD, RNC-OB, serves as Vice President of Academic Affairs at FVI School of Nursing and Technology, where she provides strategic oversight of academic operations across the institution’s nursing, allied health, and EMS programs. A registered nurse for more than 25 years, she brings a career that spans bedside care, nursing education, and senior academic leadership.

Most recently, Dr. Such served as Dean of the School of Nursing and School of Health Sciences at Valencia College in Orlando, and before that as Dean of the School of Health Professions at Florida Southwestern State College in Fort Myers. At Mayville State University in North Dakota, she was the founding director of the university’s nursing program, later served as Dean of the Division of Nursing, and was appointed Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs. Accreditation has been a hallmark of her leadership, as she has guided programs through reviews by CCNE, ACEN, the Higher Learning Commission, and several allied health accreditors, including a CCNE reaccreditation awarded for the full 10-year term.

Nationally certified in inpatient obstetric nursing, Dr. Such has a strong clinical foundation in maternal and newborn care, and her research on nitrous oxide use during labor has been published in the Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing. She is passionate about global health education and has led nursing students on service-learning experiences in Belize and Costa Rica. Dr. Such earned her PhD in Nursing from the University of North Dakota, her Master of Science in Nursing with a nurse educator focus from Minnesota State University Moorhead, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mary. At FVI, she is focused on advancing academic quality and curriculum innovation, and on preparing graduates to meet the evolving needs of Florida’s healthcare workforce.
