FVI’s ASN program prepares graduates to take the NCLEX-RN examination. Passing the NCLEX-RN is required for RN licensure in the state of Florida. Candidates must also complete an application through the Florida Board of Nursing and meet all state licensure requirements.

Yes. FVI School of Nursing and Technology is institutionally accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE). The Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program holds programmatic accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). All nursing programs at FVI are approved by the Florida Board of Nursing, and the school is licensed by the Florida Commission for Independent Education (CIE). These accreditations and approvals mean that FVI’s programs meet established educational standards and that graduates are eligible to sit for the applicable licensing examinations in Florida.
How long does it take to become a nurse at FVI?
FVI’s Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program takes approximately 22 months (90 instructional weeks) to complete. The Practical Nursing program is approximately 18 months (72 instructional weeks). Both programs offer evening class options in addition to daytime schedules, so students who are working or managing other commitments can find a schedule that fits. Allied health programs are shorter—most can be completed in under 12 months.
What is FVI's NCLEX pass rate?
For the 2025 reporting period, FVI’s Miami campus achieved an 85.9% NCLEX pass rate, and the Miramar campus achieved an 82.4% NCLEX pass rate. These rates reflect the performance of first-time test-takers from FVI’s ASN program. NCLEX preparation is integrated throughout FVI’s nursing curriculum, which is aligned to the NextGen NCLEX (NGN) format. FVI also offers a dedicated NCLEX Remedial Course for additional preparation.
Does FVI offer financial aid or scholarships?
Federal financial aid is available to students who qualify. FVI has financial planning professionals on staff who can guide you through the FAFSA process and help you understand your options, which may include grants, loans, and work-study. Scholarship opportunities are also available for qualifying students. The EMT and Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide programs are not eligible for federal financial aid. Where are FVI's campuses located?
FVI has two campuses in South Florida. The main campus is located at 7757 W. Flagler Street, Suite 200–220, Miami, FL 33144. The extension campus is at 3520 Enterprise Way, Miramar, FL 33025. Can you work as an RN in Florida with an Associate Degree?
Yes. In Florida, both an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) can lead to RN licensure. Both pathways require passing the NCLEX-RN examination and meeting the Florida Board of Nursing’s requirements. The ASN is a shorter, more affordable pathway that allows graduates to enter the nursing profession sooner. Some RNs who begin with an ASN choose to pursue a BSN later through RN-to-BSN bridge programs while they are already working.
