New Year, New Programs (Pharmacy Technician and Medical Assistant Online)

Technological advances in the healthcare industry are a major contributor to the boom in career opportunities for healthcare professionals. Our new diploma programs seek to address this need for professionals through our Pharmacy Technician program and an online Medical Assistant program. In accordance with FVI School of Nursing and Technology’s mission to train students to become entry level professionals in high demand careers[1], we have expanded our programs to meet the growing demands of the healthcare sector.

One of the largest growing industries within the health care sector, employment of medical assistants is expected to grow 34 percent from 2008 to 2018.[2] Medical Assistants are a vital part of every medical team. With FVI School of Nursing and Technology’s online medical assistant program, you will gain the technical training needed to be a resource to your medical team from virtually anywhere. This diploma program at FVI School of Nursing and Technology provides its students with access to a solidly growing field. Much like the field of Medical Assistants, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has projected that the Pharmacy Technician field will experience an increase of close to 25 percent between 2008 and 2018.[3] Both fields are well above the expected average for all occupations measured by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics.[4]

With FVI School of Nursing and Technology’s online Medical Assistant program, you will be given the tools to master the tasks of a medical assistant in a virtual and classroom environment. With a 70% online component, you can start the path to a career as a healthcare professional as you continue to accomplish your current commitments. Online classes will enable you to merge the demands of school with your existing responsibilities. The virtual classroom can be an excellent solution to obtaining certification without having to displace your responsibilities. Online classes allow you to work when you are most productive, on your own terms. This freedom allows you to fit classes into your schedule.

In their most recent publication, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projected pharmacy technicians will continue to be in high demand through 2020.[5] The new Pharmacy Technician program at FVI School of Nursing and Technology provides the necessary tools to succeed. Providing you with a chance to have a career in a number of healthcare facilities, pharmacies, and, less often, drug manufacturers, the pharmacy technician program can be the start to a great career in a growing job sector. FVI School of Nursing and Technology’s program guides students through the techniques of being an effective pharmacy technician. Students will study the technical and administrative skills required to be a productive technician. With a pharmacy technician degree, you can validate your credentials in a high demand field.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, job prospects should be excellent, especially for jobseekers with certification.[6] In less than twelve months, you could earn the degree to further your career as a Medical Assistant or Pharmacy Technician. Don’t let another year pass without gaining the expertise you need to get ahead!
