Good communication skills – Many times, Medical Assistants will communicate with patients, doctors, nurses and other medical staff. It will be essential for you to have good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Organizational skills – As a Medical Assistant, you will be in charge of medical records, insurance billing, patient information and more. Organizational skills are an important skill to ensure an office runs smoothly.

Customer service skills – Medical Assistants are often the first and last person patients interact with while at the doctors’ office. Good customer service skills will be incredibly important for any Medical Assistant.

Medical vocabulary and medical knowledge – You will be in the healthcare industry, so obtaining medical knowledge and becoming familiar with medical terminology is essential for Medical Assistants.
