Clinical Experience

The Associate Degree in Nursing program curriculum includes classroom, lab simulation, and hands-on clinical training. Clinical experience is provided through direct care and interaction with patients in a clinical setting. Students are taught nursing skills and clinical judgment in a controlled environment using high fidelity mannequins. Students of our Miami nursing program or Miramar nursing program build confidence by practicing routine procedures in the skills lab and simulating crisis situations in the simulation center.

NCLEX-RN Preparation

Our accelerated nursing program curriculum was specifically developed to prepare our students for the NextGen NCLEX-RN (NGN). NCLEX review courses are available to nursing students and the exam prep starts at the beginning of the Associate Degree in Nursing program. A regular schedule of clinical judgment exercises and video tutorials test a student’s knowledge at every milestone within the program. When our students have completed the program and are ready to take the actual NCLEX-RN exam, it will feel like second nature, giving nursing graduates the best chance of passing on their first attempt!

FVI is Accredited

FVI’s Miramar campus had its ADN of Nursing program accredited by ACEN, making it just one of a handful of nursing schools recognized as such in Miami-Dade/Broward Counties. We are very proud of this prestigious accomplishment. Being able to display the ACEN Accredited badge is independent validation of the quality and success of our nursing program.

In addition to the ACEN accreditation, the FVI School of Nursing and Technology is institutionally accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) since November 03, 2010, and is licensed by the State of Florida, Commission for Independent Education (CIE).

Registered Nurse Job Outlook

Nurses are the unsung heroes in the healthcare field, providing and coordinating patient care, educating patients and the public on various health conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients and their families. Those who graduate from our accelerated nursing programs in Miami and Miramar will be prepared to fill this important role.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), registered nurse employment will grow faster than the average for all occupations through 2029. This growth trend will occur for several factors, including an increased emphasis on preventative care; growing rates of chronic conditions, such as obesity and diabetes; and demand for healthcare services from the Baby Boomer population as they live longer and lead a more active lifestyle.

The largest employers for nurses will include hospitals, nursing/residential care facilities, as well as government and educational services at the state, local and private levels. According to BLS, the median pay for Registered Nurses is:

  • $75,3300 — Median Pay
*Note: salary will vary by state

FVI Nursing School Flexible Scheduling

FVI provides flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the students.  With a mix of online, in-person, and hybrid classes, and options for nighttime and daytime programs, students can balance their out-of-class life with their student life. Both our Miami and Miramar campuses are also conveniently located by major highways for quick and easy commutes.

Are FVI’s Labs and Facility Up to Date?

FVI takes pride in our campuses, classrooms, and labs. FVI is set up for student success with up-to-date simulation labs that mimic a  realistic  “hospital”  simulation, and resources for optimal learning. Investments have been made in equipment for labs where students are able to conduct hands-on practice and simulations.

We hope you can see how passionate we are about the student and their journey into/through healthcare.  If you think FVI is right for you, let us know.  Have questions? We can answer them for you.
