What to Expect in this Program

Learn more about what you’ll experience in FVI’s home health aide program.

When you graduate as a home health aide, you’ll be prepared to care for clients in a variety of settings. You may assist in daily requirements including the following:

  • Provide basic health services like assisting with administering medication and with taking and monitoring of vital signs
  • Assisting clients with their daily personal tasks, like bathing and dressing
  • Shopping for groceries and preparing meals that meet your clients’ dietary needs
  • Organizing your client’s schedule and appointments
  • Arranging transportation for your client

You’ll learn from FVI’s experienced faculty to gain the knowledge and hands-on experience needed as a home health aide. You’ll also receive job placement support from a dedicated career services team to help you make the transition to your career.

The program is designed to train students to care for all types of clients, including those who have disabilities, cognitive impairments, and chronic illnesses. Students also learn how to work with people recovering from surgery and older people who need assistance in their daily lives.
