Requirements
General Admissions Requirements
All applicants are encouraged to seek guidance from an Admissions Counselor to determine the necessary requirements for entrance into their desired career education program.
To be eligible for general admission, the applicant must meet the following requirements:
01 Age Requirement
Applicants must be 17 years of age or older at the start of the program. If under 18, a parent or guardian must sign the enrollment agreement.
02 Initial Interview
Complete an initial interview with an Admissions Representative to discuss school programs and policies. Interviews may be conducted via video conference or on-site.
03 Identification
Provide a valid passport or current visa.
04 Educational Background
The applicant must be a high school graduate or possess the recognized equivalent of a high school diploma.
- The applicant must provide documentation of graduation from a high school or school in the form of a valid high school diploma, GED (General Education Development) certificate, OR a higher earned degree. Additional documentation may include an official high school, or GED transcript showing graduation date or other acceptable official documentation that confirms that the applicant meets or exceeds the academic achievement equal to a high school diploma in the United States
- Documentation of proof of completion of secondary education from a foreign country must be officially translated and evaluated as the equivalent of high school completion in the United States by a Member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) and the American Translators Association.
- Students admitted as conditional are regular students only if the school officially accepts them into the eligible degree or certificate program.
- A student may be admitted “Conditionally” if that student has a foreign high school credential that has not been evaluated but presented to the school. The student must present the entire transcript (credentials) at admissions to be sent to an evaluation agency.
The student may be admitted to classes as a Regular Student, for a period of no more than three weeks. If the credential is deemed not to be equal to a 9 high school diploma, the student will be terminated from the program. There will be no costs to the student.
05 Health Clearance
The applicant is responsible for all costs associated with health clearance, PPD and immunization and/or titers for select programs. Students in any program may be required to obtain influenza and COVID vaccination to participate in work-based experiences i.e., Clinical or Externship. Failure to comply with the health clearance and immunization policy by the required date may result in the student being dismissed from the program.
- Immunization requirements are based on the current recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for healthcare workers and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). Clinical Sites may have additional health clearance and immunization requirements beyond the current recommendations outlined by the CDC or School policy.
- Admissions personnel will provide all prospective students with information regarding the immunization requirements for allied health and nursing programs.
06 Types of International Students
There are three categories of international students that can enroll at FVI:
- International First Time Students
- International Transfer Students with less than 24 college credits earned: Transfer or general credits earned outside of US- equivalent to US (English Courses will not transfer)
- International Transfer Students with more than 24 college credits earned
All applicants are encouraged to seek guidance from an International Admissions Counselor
07 Document Requirements
The following is a list of required documents for enrollment:
- A legible copy of your valid passport
- Statement of Financial Responsibility I-20 form (The form must be completed and signed by the applicant and sponsor
- Copy of official bank statement transaction history from your sponsor’s bank (bank statements must be within six months of the intended semester start date)
- Copy of an official bank statement letter from your sponsor’s bank
- English Proficiency Testing: Official English Language Proficiency results are required of all international applicants whose native language is not English.
- Official Transcripts- Translation/Evaluation or foreign credential evaluation by an organization accredited by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). (Must include GPA & Course by Course Evaluation)
